I am a wife, mother of two AWESOME children, daughter of amazing parents, friend to many, college graduate, avid fan of football and baseball watching with my family, hand cyclist, and a motivational speaker. When I speak, I feel that I am having a one-on-one conversation with each member of my audience. My true desire is to motivate others to action by leaving them feeling that they can rise above anything that tries to stand in their way, whether that is a personal difficulty, family conflict, or professional challenge. As a public speaker, I speak in professional settings, corporate events and meetings, educational assemblies, and religious firesides, conferences, camps, and meetings.
In November of 2000, at the young age of 21 years old, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. As soon as I was diagnosed with MS, I dedicated myself in getting as much knowledge as was possible about the disease. After all, knowledge is power. Soon after my diagnosis, while taking a proactive approach to my new diagnosis, I was offered a job at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and worked there as a Program Coordinator for six years.
After returning to college in 2012, I graduated Cum Laude from Utah State University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Family and Human Development. I am currently a certified instructor by the Utah Department of Health for Living Well with Chronic Conditions, Living Well with Chronic Pain, and Living Well with Diabetes classes. I currently am an Ambassador Speaker for a leading pharmaceutical company and in this role, I travel nationally to speak to various audiences and also do web conferences.
For me, the two letters "MS" do mean multiple sclerosis but I feel that these letters could mean something for everyone: 1. My Story (because each of us have a story in our lives) 2. My Strength (we each can find strength and come out stronger through our challenges) 3. My Success (we each can come out on top and find success, despite any obstacles that we face)
My personal equation to Triumph Through Trials is: Mind + Motivation = Power Power + Perseverance = Strength Strength + Power = Triumph
